TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Conference venue

slide dubrovnik 01

The Students' Conference will be held at the University of Dubrovnik Campus, Department of Art and Restoration, situated in the close vicinity of the historical centre.

The historicist building is work of German architect Kuno Waidmann. It was originally built as a general hospital, back in 1888, hence still being referred to as "the old hospital". Due to homeland war in the early 1990s, all departments were moved to the new hospital complex in Medarevo and the building deteriorated since.

Conversion of the Old hospital into campus commenced in 2009 and was completed  three years  later with the grand opening being held on May 7th 2012. The aim of reconstruction, which was supervised by the Conservation Department,  was to preserve and reconstruct the original facade whilst adapting the interior for the purposes of university teachings. The rebuilt University Campus constitutes of two amphitheatres and 19 classrooms,  all of which are equipped with modern teaching aids.

Check the location of conference on the Google map.
