Instructions for preparing and submitting video presentations

Important notice!

The 17th International Conference of Conservation-Restoration studies will be held online via the Zoom Video Communication App. All presentations must be pre-recorded; the recordings will be played out in sequence during the conference. The conference will include live question and answer sessions. Please note that each presenter will have scheduled time for answering questions live via the Zoom app.

The access link for the Zoom meeting will be sent to all participants via e-mail a few days before the conference. It will also be published on this website.

Each conference participant will be required to have:

  • Installed Zoom Video communication App (https://zoom.us)
  • Stable Internet connection
  • Microphone and speakers or headphones to be able to communicate with other participants during the Q&A session.

 

Preparing and submitting a recorded video presentation

The duration of the oral presentation must not exceed 15 minutes.

The presenters are asked to make and send a video recording of the presentation, both visual and audio (if possible, the presenter should be visible in the recording, e.g. the upper right-hand corner). Indicate file name as the last name of the main author and the word “Presentation” (e.g. JURIC_Presentation.mp4). The recording will be played during the conference, and published afterwards on this website, where it will be available to the public.

In addition to the recording, the authors also have to send a transcript of the oral presentation for the purpose of subtitling. Name the file in the following way: the last name of the main author and the word “Transcript” (e.g. JURIC_Transcript.doc).

The submission deadline for the recording and transcript of oral presentations: October 1st, 2021. Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted.

 

Technical instructions for creating PowerPoint presentations

  • At the top of the first slide of the visual presentation title, author(s) names, mentor(s) name, institution, study programme, a field of specialization and e-mail address of the author must be written;
  • At the bottom of the first slide of the visual presentation “17th International Conference of Conservation-Restoration Studies, Zagreb, 21st – 22nd October 2021“ must be written;
  • Images must be clear and sharp, numbered and must have a description;
  • Literature references should follow the Harvard Referencing Style.

 

Advice for PowerPoint presentation design

  • For a 15-minute presentation, try not to exceed 30 slides;
  • Use one slide for each idea or point;
  • The presentation should be visually appealing and easy to follow – do not overwrite or use too many images, do not use an excessively large font or more than two font styles;
  • Heading font should be bigger than text font;
  • Be consistent with text formatting;
  • Choose an appropriate background and font colours;
  • Bright colours should be used moderately.

The 17th International Conference of Conservation-Restoration Studies will be held online. Posters will be presented on this website and on social media. (On the official Instagram page, posters will be published in full and cropped into three segments.)

 

Preparing and submitting a poster

General guidelines

  • The text must be written in English in accordance with professional standards.
  • Poster size: B1 (portrait orientation).
  • Poster must be sent in PDF format; resolution at least 300dpi.

Technical instructions

  • Include the following information at the top of the poster: author(s) name(s), mentor(s) name(s), institution, study programme, field of specialization and e-mail address of the author;
  • Include the following line at the bottom of the poster: “17th International Conference of Conservation-Restoration Studies, Zagreb, Zagreb, 21st – 22nd October 2021“;
  • Text font size should be minimum 18pt;
  • Images must be clear and sharp, numbered and must have a description (image description font should not be smaller than 12pt);
  • Please do not use footnotes; if you need to insert notes, use brackets “[]”;
  • Literature references should follow the Harvard Referencing Style.

Name the file in the following way: the last name of the main author and the word “Poster” (e.g. JURIC_Poster.pdf).

The submission deadline for poster presentations: September 20th, 2021. 

Authors are kindly requested to adhere to the general guidelines and technical instructions, and to submit their applications within the set deadline. Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted.

Please do not use any special letters or characters in the file name (č, ć, đ, á, é, ý, ď, ě, ř, š, ž...).

The photo should show the face of the author, and should be in high resolution. If the work / poster has more than one author, one photo of each author should be sent.

Name the file (or files) in the following way: SURNAME_Name.jpg (Example: JURIC_Jure.jpg)
